Modern technological advancements in colon hydrotherapy means that highly educated and skilled hygienists can carry out a safe colon therapy treatment to help maintain vibrant health. At Solace Spa we use the latest colon hydrotherapy equipment with UV filtration. The treatment consists of infusing warm filtered water into the rectum gently loosening and stimulating the colon to cleanse and balance, removing accumulated matter from colon walls and diluting and flushing out bacterial toxins in the large intestine. It is important to remember that it is a complimentary therapy and not a cure-all treatment.

Colon hydrotherapy promotes total well being from the inside out. Liver cirrhosis, Diverticulitis, Polyps of the colon/ GI (gastric intestinal tract), Recent colon surgery, Severe Heart disease. It is also not suitable for women who are pregnant.

The treatment takes 40 minutes for 60 litres of water to pass through the colon but you will be given a 90 minute appointment slot which includes a full in-depth consultation. During the colon treatment itself, you will be relaxing on a treatment couch in complete comfort, and covered from the waist down at all times. Comfort and privacy is of utmost importance and this is always respected. Colon hydrotherapy is a medically approved procedure and is carried out using strict sterilisation processes. For your protection the entire Colon Hydrotherapy system is sterilised between treatments and fresh clean towels are provided for each client. All tubes are disposable and replaced after every treatment. Tensing the muscles may cause some discomfort, so it is important to relax. Sometimes the colon muscles will contract suddenly during the session, which is perfectly normal. This feels like a very mild cramp and is an indication that the treatment is giving benefits by making the muscles work.

Alcohol is best avoided for 24 hours after a colon treatment. We recommend that you eat lightly for the next 24 hours. The session gives the colon a good workout and so needs a little time to rest. Avoid foods that are heavy and difficult to digest.

Most clients say that they go to bed early and have an amazingly restful nights sleep. We advise you do not plan anything in the evening and stay in relax and feel the benefits.
